What is Theft?
Daily Study of the Noahide Code of Laws
The Divine Code for February 11, 2023
Today: Page 477-479
Topic Part VII - ...person in particular
We start with a new law: the prohibition of theft.
The verdict on the generation of the flood was sealed when HaShem saw that "the world is full of robbery".
The prohibition of theft is unique because it actually covers every aspect of human life, as we deal with other people all day long. We should accept their property as much as we value our own busy.
But the prohibition extends beyond material things, one's body and the honour due to a person. So it is not for nothing that it is the biggest chapter in The Divine Code.
