Topic Chapter 1:2 - 1:3
Robbery - gezelah - is when someone takes the beloning of another person by open force.
Thievery - geneivah - is when someone takes another person's beloning secretly, without the owner's awarness.
In the Noahide Lawe there is no difference between robbery and theft. The prohibition on theft and robbery applies also if you do it through physical threat or blackmail. There is another type of forcible acquisistion of items, called extortion - hamas. This occurs when one forces his victim to sell him a object, even at its correct value.
