Numbers Chapter 23 - Torah Reading for Balak
Verse 23:
"Then Balaam said to Balak, “Stay here beside your offerings while I am gone. Perhaps HaShem will grant me a manifestation, and whatever is revealed to me I will tell you.” And he went off alone. Rashi: PERHAPS THE LORD WILL HAPPEN TO MEET ME — Perhaps: He is not accustomed to speak with me by day.
There are many levels among the prophets. They receive their prophecy in a vision in a dream at night, or during the day. They do not have prophecy whenever they want. They need to direct their minds to God in happiness. Not so for Moses. He receive his prophecy while he was awake, and he could enter the Tent of Meeting to speak with HaShem if he wished.
And he could enter the Tent of Meeting to speak with HaShem if he wished.
Moses was the humblest man in the world, it was for this reason that he was worthy to receive the Torah and its details from HaShem.
It is through him that the Noahides received their 7 commandments and their details as an everlasting and unchanging law.
Any Noahide who accurately observes these 7 commandments because Moses the greatest prophet passed them on is a pious one of the nations.
