Can a Noahide Study the Jewish Torah?
Divine Code for July 26, 2022
Today: Page 71
Topic 5:1 -- 5:3
The general rule is that it is obligatory for a Gentile to learn the Seven Commandments that he is commanded to do, and he should learn them very well, to know what is permitted an prohibited for him. He is permitted to learn them even in a way of “delving into them” meaning deeply learning to understand the reasons and the details of the Noahide Code.
A question often asked is, what are Noahides allowed to study now? Here is a list of what the Divine Code reflects.
Noahides are permitted to read:
· 24 Books of Tenach
· Jewisch commentators as Rashi, Ramban and Sforno
· Mishneh Torah from Rambam
· Schulchan Aruch from Rabbi Yosef Karo
· Kitzur Shulchan Aruch from Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried
· Tractates of Mishneh from Rabbi Yehuda the Prince, without its subsequent explanantions.
Studying Torah to better understand the commandments, to better perform them and to improve yourself make you a happy and blessed person and may the world become a place where people can live together in peace in a healthy society. A place where G-d wants to be.
