Idolatry, There is No Such Thing in our Time, is There?

Divine Code for August 11, 2022

Today: Page 106

Topic Introduction "The Prohibition of Idolatry"

Only G-d, the One Eternal Creator of all, may we worship. Anything that is worshipped in addition to or in place of G-d is Idolatry - in Hebrew

called Avoda Zarah. It is the belief that there are powers or forces besides G-d that have their own free will that can affect us.

Avodah Zarah literally means "strange worship" it is any form and manner of worshiping G-d that is not permitted.

Avodah Zarah:

Worshiping any created thing. Still angel, still something that is on earth, still water, fire etc.

Giving trust to astrology, seance etc.

Having confidence in being able to make one's own choices regarding ways and means of worshipping G-d that are not taught by Torah.

Let us worship Him alone in the way He has taught us in His Torah.
