If a person does not regret his oath, he cannot be released from it

This is possible only if the person regrets the oath he took at that specific moment in time. However, one can point out to someone the negative consequences of his oath that he overlooked. If that makes him regret it because he did not think of it, one may release him from it


This does not apply if someone regrets his oath when exceptional events occur afterwards that he could not have thought of beforehand.


It remains better not to promise anything under an oath, but let your word be your word.
