Devarim: Having Trust during Life's Journey

In this Torah portion, we read about the encouragement that Moses gives before entering the land of Israel. Moses tells Joshua, his successor, that he has seen the mighty works and wonders that G-d has done against the two kings they have met on their journey. It shows that just as G-d gave them victory over those kings, He will continue to grant them victory over all the kingdoms they will encounter in the future.

This serves as encouragement to Joshua and the Israelites as they prepare to face numerous challenges and hard battles in the land they are about to conquer. Moses reminds them not to be afraid of their enemies because G-d will fight on their behalf. It highlights their belief that their success does not solely depend on their own strength, but rather on the power of G-d.

These are messages of trust in G-d's faithfulness and the assurance that He will continue to guide and protect the Israelites as they enter the Promised Land. We see the importance of relying on G-d's strength and not being fearful or discouraged in the face of challenges.

Faith and complete trust in G-d's help apply to Noahides as well. They should also hold that overcoming life's challenges requires not only effort but also help from heaven. Sometimes Noahides should be prepared to face challenges in observing the seven Noahide laws, however, they will surely overcome them with the help of Hashem, knowing that these obstacles will finally elevate them to an entirely higher level of spiritual resilience.
