Let Words be Pearls.
Az men redt a sach, redt men foen zich
(Yiddish)
Those who talk a lot, talk about themselves
We all have experience of people coming to you with a waterfall of words about what they all did over the weekend, for example, who they saw and talked to, what they ate, etc. Today, this sometimes goes into the extension and extreme with people posting their entire lives on media like facebook, requiring everyone to witness their meal, their sports activities, etc.
Words are like pearls, we should be careful of them and not just throw them around. Knowing that our words are pearls, we should also use them in that way, like treasures.
Our words should be fashionable, few, meaningful, loving and where possible contain words of Torah.
