Can I Attend my Sister's Wedding in a Church

Divine Code for August 15, 2022

Today: Page 117

Topic 2:1 -- 2:3

The general precautions for Noahides are the following prohibitions regarding turning to idolatry:

- Reading books about idols

- Listening to music made for idols

- Smelling aromas for the service of idols

- Enjoying and looking at idolatrous decorations

- Entering a house of idolatry

- Attending, for example, a wedding or dedication of a child

A Noahide is prohibited from a totally rational basis, so therefore in specific instances when there are other considerations in which the basic logic does not apply, the prohibition is lifted.

If by not being able to attend, for example, your sister's wedding, and anger and hatred may arise in the family, you may attend the service. However, you may not actively participate in certain activities, such as praying and singing.
